We may not see snow in Florida but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate winter here. I had the honor of photographing a wedding with Brittany Brock Photography in St Augustine, Florida, a few years ago and the results reminded me of the perfect winter wedding, so I just had to share it!
The colors she chose were elegant and the bridesmaid’s dresses were a perfect mismatch of champagne, rose gold, and sequins. The master suite bathroom where most of the getting ready portraits were taken was any woman’s dream!
The bride had a “first look” with her father. It was so sweet watching her come down the stairs and hug her dad prior to the wedding ceremony. If you do not have your own first look with your groom, having one with your father is definitely something to consider. I wish I had chosen this route because my dad is a man of few words but I remember us talking right before we walked down the aisle and I think it would have been a wonderful moment to capture.
Megan’s little flower girl was precious! She followed Megan around the entire day calling her princess and the portraits we captured of the two of them are so sweet. I know they will be treasured for many years to come.
The sun made an appearance during their rooftop ceremony and backlit everyone beautifully. It made for a perfect backdrop while Megan & Jason said their vows. And afterwards, we took the wedding party portraits downstairs in front of the three-story beach home where the ceremony was held!
Back up on the rooftop the couple had their first dance which was a beautiful choreographed dance. It was so pretty and the coupled ended their dance with a dip and a kiss.
Hopefully this inspires any brides out there who is currently planning a winter wedding! In Florida at least, it means a break from the hotter temperatures we see most of the year without the possibility of ever being snowed in or stuck in a blizzard!
