Kellie and Lee booked a couples session with me shortly before Lee went on his deployment last summer. She chose one of the dresses in my client closet, my fuschia maxi dress and a client favorite too! She also chose one of their favorite spots on Okinawa, Cape Zanpa. Cliffs that make you feel like you’re in Ireland and water so blue that it reminds me of sapphires. One of the most iconic locations in Okinawa, Japan, and one you should definitely visit if you haven’t yet. And towards the end of their session at a nearby beach with a beautiful sunset!
I feel like I always talk about the weather in every single post but as an outdoor photographer it is really a big factor in how the overall feel and style of the session turns out. This day was beautiful the entire day with a 1% chance of rain across the island.
Well, this girl right here, always goes to the part of the island that has the 1% chance of rain. It wasn’t raining on the way there; just right as we showed up. So we are all in the parking lot in our cars waiting for the rain to pass.
Kellie brought her two pups, Maddie and Huxley, to their session. If you don’t follow Kellie for her personal training and inspiration then you should definitely follow her to get updates on Huxley. He is seriously the funniest pup I’ve ever met. And as we were sitting in our cars he was giving me the meanest look pretty much saying it was my fault it was raining and that he’d like to get out of the car! Haha, it was hysterical. Kellie and I captured it from both of our phones! Those will be at the bottom of the blog so be sure to check those out for your daily dose of laughter!
Fifteen minutes later the rain shower stopped and we started our session. We started on Cape Zanpa with the whole family. The pups did so good with direction. I love some of the pup pictures the best! The dress Kellie choose was the perfect pop of color for their session and looked so stunning on her!
When we went down to the beach we had the most beautiful sunset! When the back of the camera looks so perfect I get so excited to edit the pictures! The clouds and colors of the sunset that night were so gorgeous! This is what summer skies are like in Okinawa! You can capture the colors more easily during the summer season.
Kellie and Lee actually celebrated Christmas in July this year which I thought was such a great idea! She doesn’t have too much longer before Lee will be home in a few months! I’m so excited for her! That deployment homecoming feeling is the absolute best feeling in the world!! Enjoy the pictures below and if you’re looking to book a couples session reach out to me today!
