Last Friday the nation recognized Veteran’s Day. For Angela & Adam they were recognizing their own special day, their wedding day. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, these two decided to celebrate their love for each other and enter into the unity of matrimony in the small town of Fernandina Beach.
They choose the Fairbanks House Bed & Breakfast on Amelia Island. Right in the middle of the historic district of Fernandina Beach sits an 8,000 square foot 1885 Italianate villa mansion with three cottages, a pool, and even a butterfly garden. The sidewalk leading up to the mansion is lined with grand oak tress covered in Spanish moss blowing in the wind.
I was honored to be chosen as their photographer for their intimate ceremony and I loved that Angela chose to include classical wedding details. She put so much thought into her wedding day. She chose a beautiful birdcage veil, her own bouquet and a boutonnière for Adam, and she even had her hair and makeup professionally done. Her dress was from Anthropologie and her jewelry matched her style and the antique look of her venue perfectly! This was my first time photographing an elopement and Angela’s choices made everything come together beautifully!
Before the ceremony Adam performed a Native American tradition to purify the area where they would be exchanging vows. I love capturing these important moments for my bride and groom. Afterwards, Angela & Adam were greeted by a cute horse drawn carriage! Such a perfect photo opportunity! The carriage would take them to their dinner reservations where they would enjoy a romantic meal then come back to their room to desert and champagne.
Theresa at the Fairbanks House helped put all of this together for the bride and groom and everything turned out beautifully! She is a gracious host and I would recommend any couple looking for an intimate quiet ceremony to reach out to her about their special day.
Below is a glimpse into Angela & Adam’s special day! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Kaylor! Enjoy!
